Brief Explanation of Source Case 

 This example wiki has to do with the background and planning of Cyberjaya (meaning "cyber success"), a completely new "information and communication technology (ICT)" city in Malaysia. 

The Example Source Case in More Detail

     The Malaysian Government has embraced the move into ICT, and has identified ICT as the engine of growth towards achieving developed nation status. A master plan for the development of the industry has been produced, and a crucial part of that master plan is the creation of a technology region known as the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC). The Cyberjaya information technology city, which is the core urban development area in the MSC, has been seen as the means to rapid integration into the new economy and help in resolving the problems associated with imbalance in urbanization. The main purpose of this case is to illustrate the basic planning framework of Cyberjaya.

To keep the example simple, we have selected 19 variables and 39 corresponding bivariate relationships to represent the situation described in the brief explanation immediately.

Note that, except for regulatory rule sets, we have yet to find a good example in the academic literature, newspapers, television shows, or the Internet which contained an exhaustive set of relationships. Hence in many instances we have had to use extensive judgment to establish these. In any case, we have undertaken the arduous task of entering all these variables and relationships into COMPASS, and divided the former into 146 major categories.

Some of these categories have sub-categories. As an instance, "Techtron" (Mademade Environment) has as one sub-category “Transportation” which, if desired, can be further divided by mode (“Air”, “Highway”, “Mass Transit”, and “Water/Pipeline”), with the second further subdivided into “Auto” and “Truck”. It also should be mentioned here that a variable can be placed in more than one category.
